This is a beautiful meditation which not only helps clear and cleanse your chakras, it also allows you to acknowledge and release any physical and emotional issues you are dealing with. We also invite Archangel Raphael to bring healing on all levels. I did this with my Monday meditation group, and everyone enjoyed it and felt lighter and more relaxed afterwards.
As with all meditations, this works best if you are thoroughly relaxed and receptive, so take some time to get into that space with some conscious breathing to bring your attention into the present moment. Close your eyes and breathe in clear white light for a count of three. Hold for three, then exhale any tension and stress for a count of three. You may like to give this breath a dark colour – red, black or brown for example – and then see it get lighter with each breath as you breathe out your troubles. Once the exhale breath is almost clear, you’re ready to go. Find yourself a comfortable, quiet place where you won’t be disturbed and allow around 30 minutes for this meditation.

- With your eyes closed, go to your happy place. This can be a beach, a forest, a beautiful garden, a sunlit terrace – anywhere that makes you feel relaxed and connected with everything around you. See yourself lying on a bed of clear quartz crystal. We call clear quartz the master healer, and although this bed is made of quartz, it’s surprisingly comfortable and just the right temperature for your body. Take a few moments to enjoy your surroundings and settle on your crystal bed. It’s a warm, sunny day, with blue skies and a gentle breeze.
- You may feel a presence close to you. That’s Archangel Raphael, the Angel of Healing, coming in to work with you. Don’t worry if you don’t sense him around you; healing is going to happen! If you do notice Raphael, how does he appear, or do you just sense his energy? Do you see his green ray?
- Archangel Raphael will help with clearing and cleansing each of your main chakras, bringing physical and emotional healing on all levels. See your root chakra as a red flower of your choosing, in bud. Maybe it’s a rose, a poppy, a dahlia, or something else. You can choose the same flower in different colours for each chakra if you wish. Now see each petal unfold, one by one. When your flower is fully open, it dances in the breeze, and points towards the sun. The root chakra is the seat of anger, fear and insecurity around lack of resources. See a single petal detach form your flower and fly away for each of your concerns in this area. Angry with a person, a situation, or with yourself? Release the feeling with a red petal. Worried about finances? Release that with another petal. Worried about physical wellbeing, particularly arthritis, leg pain, constipation? Send out a petal for each issue that causes you discomfort.

move to the scacral chakra. This is an orange flower in bud, and maybe it’s a marigold, bird of paradise, or chrysanthemum. As before, open the petals one by one, and see your flower dance in the breeze. Now release the emotions associated with the scaral, one petal at a time. This chakra is about sexuality and joy in your life, so if anything is stealing your joy, let it go. If you’re holding on to any trauma based around past sexual experiences or sexual identity, release them too. Physically, if you have any issues with the reproductive organs or the kidneys, release them now.
Move to the solar plexus chakra just below the breast bone. This is a yellow flower in bud, perhaps it’s a daffodil, a primrose or a crocus. Again, open the petals one by one, and see your flower dance in the breeze. If you have low self-esteem, or an unhealthy addiction, let that go as petals in the breeze. Discontent with aspects of your life that block your happiness are also connected to the solar plexus, so release that. Physically, the solar plexus governs the digestive system, so release any problems you may be experiencing in that area too.
Now we come to the heart chakra. This is represented by the colours pink and green, so we’re going to go with a pink flower. This can be a petunia, a lily, a carnation, or anything else. The heart is the seat of emotions like grief, whether for a departed loved one or a lost relationship, so if this is an issue for you, release it as petals from your flower. Physically, the heart is associated with the heart, lungs, breasts and circulation, so again, set those petals free if necessary.
The throat chakra is blue, so now we need a blue flower. Think morning glory, delphinium, forget-me-nots. Emotionally, the throat chakra is about communication, so if you have difficulty saying what you need to say in a kind way, or if you feel like you are misunderstood, intentionally or otherwise, release that with your blue petals. If you have physical issues with the throat, thyroid or the area around the jaw or neck, release that as well.
Now we move to the third eye chakra. This is indigo coloured, a deep vibrant blue, so your flower can be a darker variety of the blue flowers for the throat chakra. Again, see each petal opening up and moving in the breeze before releasing petals for whatever needs healing. The third eye governs intuition and clear sight and wisdom, so if you’re having problems seeing things as they really are, or trusting in your intuition, send out petals to clear that. Physically, the third eye covers your face, sinuses and eyes, so if you have any issues there, release them now.
Finally, the crown chakra is violet coloured. You may choose violets, pansies or wisteria to open up. The crown chakra governs the mind, body spirit balance, so if you’re feeling depressed, bored or restless, you may want to release petals for that. The crown is linked to the brain and the pineal gland, which among other things governs the body’s natural sleeping/waking cycles, so if this is an issue for you, or if you’re recovering from any form of brain disorder such as epilepsy or stroke, you may want to release it now.

- Now you’ve opened all your chakras, and the breeze has cleared and cleansed them, Archangel Raphael will help you heal on all levels. See him gathering all the petals you’ve released along with your negative emotions and physical challenges. He surrounds the petals – and you – with his emerald green healing ray. Feel this ray seep through your skin and find its way into every cell in your body. Now see the petals return to their flowers like magic now that healing is taking place.
- Starting at the crown chakra, see your flowers return to bud state as your chakras close. Work down through each one in turn – first the violet flower, then the indigo, followed by the blue, pink, yellow and orange flowers. Finally, the red flower closes.
- When you are ready, give gratitude for your chakra clearing and healing, and thank Archangel Raphael for working with you. Spend a little time enjoying your surroundings before you say farewell to your happy place – for now – and gradually return to the room and open your eyes. Wiggle your fingers and toes and take a drink of water.
Repeat this meditation whenever you feel you need to. Once a week is ideal, if you can manage it. You may wish to record the meditation and play it back, so you can fully relax into it. Love and blessings.
