In one of the spiritual support groups I belong to on Facebook, a lady described how she was having difficulty rediscovering who she really is, after many years of putting everyone else first. She was feeling overwhelmed, and said it was if she had shattered into millions of slivers of herself, and she had no idea how to reconnect with her essence, although she felt it was still in there somewhere, waiting to come forward!
I was guided to give her a visualisation to work with – what I call the ‘Slivers of You’ visualisation, inspired by her eloquent words. Visualisations are great tools for creating the mindset you want, and visualising the life you aspire to. There’s a lot of scientific evidence to show that visualisation works because the neurons in the brain that create the images equate them with actual performance. In other words, as you visualise the slivers becoming the complete person again, your brain believes it’s actually happening! Of course, you still need to work on raising your energy from the negative thoughts that prompted the need for visualisation in the first place, but it can’t be emphasised enough just how potentially powerful this energy tool is.
Visualisations can be especially powerful when overwhelm kicks in, because the activity of directing your energy where you want it helps overcome negativity and empowers you to examine your feelings and see better outcomes in your mind’s eye. It can be incredibly uplifting, and you can do it any time, anywhere, as long as you are in a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed.
Best of all, you don’t need any other equipment than your mind, though you may want to hold a piece of citrine – the crystal of abundance – in your left hand to add its energy to your own. And if you like to work with angels, ask Archangel Ariel, the Angel of Abundance, to help you reassemble the Slivers of You.

Slivers of You Visualisation
In this visualisation, we are going to see the Slivers of You taking form again as we reassemble them, a little at a time.
- Start with the first sliver, and see its beauty, how it attracts the light. That’s your beauty shining through, because even broken things have beauty. Take time to see and appreciate the way the sliver attracts the light, and reflects it out. Know that you are capable of doing that too. You are a being of light and beauty, even if you don’t feel that vibration now.
- Now see another sliver join with it, and see that light and beauty magnified, and sense the strength of it. Two are more powerful than one, after all. Keep adding slivers and making something bigger, better, stronger and more beautiful, remembering to stop and admire this beauty at each stage. See a fine but incredibly strong golden thread weaving through the slivers, connecting them inextricably, so they can never shatter again.
- Notice how you are feeling as you go. Do you feel stronger, more empowered, less hopeless and helpless? You should, because you are! When you feel ready to stop, memorise a picture of how your slivers have built up in your mind.
- You may even want to draw this, but that’s your choice. Committing it to paper will give you a starting point for the next time you do this visualisation. I would suggest doing it at least 3 times a week, or as often as you feel is right for you.
I recommend each time you do the visualisation you write about your feelings in a journal. You will notice the difference as time goes by, and that will help you to feel the difference at soul level. Remember you are rebuilding the warrior within, so take time to fully appreciate what you are recreating from the Slivers of You!
